WHY
FRUIT
    FEST?

Fruity is a word that was used to describe someone that seems odd or queer. Not necessarily synonymous with gay but loosely speaking refers to someone who is cheerfully, flamboyant or bouncy. Formerly used as a slur, FRUITFEST aims to reclaim the words meaning as something positive and camp
.

WHAT
ARE
   WE
DOING?

FRUITFEST is planned as a multimedia event that is focused on queer arts and culture in different media such as performance, lectures, workshops, film, music and fashion. It is planned as a yearly reoccurring platform. A festival for queer community building.

At FRUITFEST activists who are active in different organizations and associations and artists with different approaches and practices should meet each other. Intersectionality and different queer approaches to life are important to us and key for a diverse program, a lively exchange and sustainable community building.

FRUITFEST intends to be a safe space
for historically marginalized people
.

UNTIL
 WE
MEET
    AGAIN!

This year FRUITFEST will be launched as a platform to create an online access to different media. Thus, in times of Covid-19, a space is to be created that serves as a temporal bridge to a future in which we can meet each other physically again.
